Jared Padalecki
Jared Padalecki was born in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Sharon L., a high school English teacher at East Central High School, and Gerald R. Padalecki, a tax supervisor and accountant. His paternal grandfather was Polish. He has an older brother, Jeff, and a younger sister, Megan. He started taking acting classes at the age of 12. Padalecki won Fox TV's 1999 "Claim to Fame Contest"; he subsequently appeared at the Teen Choice Awards, where he met his current manager. Before graduating from high school in 2000, he moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue an acting career, although he had originally planned to attend the University of Texas. Padalecki's first credit was a minor role in the 1999 film, A Little Inside. In 2000, he was cast as Dean Forester on the successful series Gilmore Girls, a role he played until 2005. In 2004, he appeared in the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen-led comedy New York Minute, and also had a role in the thriller Flight of the Phoenix. In 2005, Padalecki starred opposite Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray and Paris Hilton in the horror film House of Wax, and appeared in another horror film, Cry Wolf, on the set of which he met his girlfriend, co-star Sandra McCoy.
Jensen Ackles
Jensen Ackles was born in Dallas, Texas, to Alan Roger Ackles, an actor, and Donna Joan Shaffer. He has an older brother, Joshua, and a younger sister, Mackenzie, and is of Irish and British ancestry. He had planned to study sports medicine at Texas Tech University and become a physical therapist before moving to Los Angeles to become an actor. After modeling off and on since he was a young child at the age of 4, Ackles began to concentrate on an acting career in 1996. He appeared in several guest roles on Mr. Rhodes, Sweet Valley High, and Cybill before joining the cast of the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady in 1997. Ackles departed Days of Our Lives in 2000 and went on to appear in the mini-series Blonde about the life of Marilyn Monroe. He also auditioned for the role as the young Clark Kent on Smallville, but it was offered to actor Tom Welling instead. After failing to land the part, he appeared in a guest role on the James Cameron television series Dark Angel on Fox in 2001 as Ben/X5-493, the psychopathic, serial killer "brother" of the main character Max/X5-452 (played by Jessica Alba). His character died in the episode, but Ackles returned to the show as a series regular in the second season as Ben's twin, Alec/X5-494. He remained with the show until its cancellation in 2002. Ackles worked steadily throughout 2003. He joined the cast of the WB's hit show Dawson's Creek during the final season, playing CJ, Jen Lindley's lover. Afterward, Ackles filmed several episodes of the unaired series Still Life for Fox before it was abruptly dropped. Ackles returned to Vancouver (where Dark Angel was filmed) in 2004 to become a regular on Smallville playing Assistant Football Coach Jason Teague, who was also the newest romantic interest for Lana Lang, played by Kristin Kreuk. He also had a lead role in the 2005 film Devour in which Ackles real life father, actor Alan Ackles also had a role playing the father of Ackles' character, Jake Gray. In the summer of 2006, Jensen Ackles took on the role of Priestly in the quirky Independent film comedy Ten Inch Hero. He also appeared on stage from June 5-10, 2007 with Lou Diamond Phillips in A Few Good Men at Casa Mañana Theatre in Fort Worth Texas as Lt. Daniel Kaffee. Ackles received extensive praise for his work in this role, which was also his first ever appearance in a professional stage production.
Katie Cassidy
Katie Cassidy was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of '70s pop idol David Cassidy and former model Sherry Benedon (née Kaltschnee); the two had an "on-again, off-again" relationship during the 1970's-1980s, resulting in Katie's birth, fifteen years after first meeting. Cassidy's paternal grandparents were actors Jack Cassidy and Evelyn Ward. She grew up in Calabasas, California with her mother and stepfather, Richard Benedon, an ER physician. She now has a close relationship with David Cassidy. She has two older sisters, Jenna and Jaime. As a child, Cassidy took to tumbling and eventually became a cheerleader for the California Flyers, a competitive team. She cheered as a freshman for Calabasas High School where she attended classes and graduated in 2005. As a child, Cassidy became interested in show business. Cassidy started community theater when she was in elementary school. She modeled for Abercrombie and Fitch and Rock and Republic's line in 2004, which helped open the door to an acting career. Her mother, Sherry, would not allow Katie to act professionally until completing her high school education. After high school, Katie was planning to attend NYU's Tisch School of Performing Arts, but instead landed a number of jobs.
Lauren Cohan
Lauren Cohan was born in Philadelphia and lived in Cherry Hill Township, New Jersey during her childhood before moving to the United Kingdom. Lauren graduated from the University of Winchester / King Alfred's College where she studied Drama and English Literature, before touring with a theatre company she co-founded at the University. Lauren then split her time and works between London and Los Angeles, working on several films as well as some non-commercial projects. Her major movie debut was the 2005 film Casanova as Sister Beatrice. In 2006, she starred in the sequel to National Lampoon's Van Wilder, Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj playing the role of Charlotte Higginson, or Charlie. Her next role was in the 2007 film Float.
